Tuesdays are 3 AI updates, one hot take, one action. Fridays are 1 practical real estate agent workflow.

Agents have been building voice guides for two years. Most of them sit in a single Claude conversation, unused. Turning yours into a skill is what makes it powerful.

Most create voice guides but it rarely makes an impact on their actual work because they need to remember to paste it in. A skill file is different. Install it once and it travels into Claude projects easily. That's the move most people skip, and it's one of the things we build in my yesterday’s Claude workshop. Here’s the steps to take…

Step 1: Start the interview

Open Claude and create a new project. Call it Sphere Outreach, or anything that makes sense for you. It’s also fine to do this within your main project that is already created. Just paste this prompt in:

"Interview me until you're 95% confident you understand my voice, my real estate background, and how I like to write. Ask me for examples and ask me questions about my style. Don't stop until you feel confident. Then write me a voice guide."

Let Claude run the interview. It will ask what words you reach for, what you would never write, how you handle clients you don't know well. The most important instruction I give agents at this step: answer based on how you actually write, not how you think you write. Give it plenty of examples of your own emails, texts and more.

Step 2: Show it. Don't describe it.

Don't write a paragraph about your "direct but warm" communication style. Paste two or three emails from your sent folder instead. If you've connected your Gmail connector, add this line: "Also use my Gmail as context." Point it to your website or anything else you’ve published that feels like how you want Claude to sound.

A guide built from four real emails is always better than one built from self-description.

Step 3: Turn the guide into a skill

Once Claude drafts the voice guide, review it. If it captures something true about how you write, say: "Create a writing skill file from this so I can apply it to all my projects."

This is the step most agents miss. A voice guide in a document only works in that document. A skill file works everywhere - every Claude project, every Cowork session, every time you start a new conversation. You install it once. From that point on, when you ask Claude to draft a sphere text or a follow-up email, you just tell it to apply that skill. It doesn't start from a blank slate. It starts from how you actually write.

Proud to have Wispr Flow sponsor this email since its a tool I use every day.

Saturday’s workshop

Thanks so much for the amazing agents who spent the day with me yesterday. Your passion for getting better is inspiring!

One of my favorite moments from the day was from an agent who came in not knowing what was possible. By lunch, she had Claude pulling through her entire deal history, building out her ideal client profile, challenging her to spend more time focusing on neighborhoods that were gonna build her business, and then helping her do that by dropping automated emails to her sphere contacts directly into her Gmail.

You can read feedback from attendees on the course page and sign up for notifications for future sessions. Here are a couple favorites:

"I’ve been in real estate for over 40 years and have seen a lot of tools and training come and go. This course is different. Matt has a gift for taking complex technology and making it immediately usable. I walked away with tools I could apply to my business the same day." Anne Hogan Perry, Compass Hawaii

"I’ve been using Claude for 6 months and took away new workflows for creating a newsletter in my voice, nurturing sequences, and automated texts for past clients. Very happy I attended." Justin Ratowsky, Compass SoCal

I'm doing a live version of this workshop at the Compass SoCal Luxury Summit in Orange County, August 10–12. If you're going to be there and want more information about the session, just reply directly to this email. Happy to send you the details.
