Tuesdays are 3 AI updates, one hot take, one action. Weekends are 1 practical real estate agent workflow.

Last week I laid out the problem: ask ChatGPT or Gemini for a good agent in your area and only about 8 of us in 100 show up. You filled out your Google Business Profile after that issue, so you’re on the board.

As this weekend comes to a close it’s about getting the AI to actually pick you this week. Here are a few things you can knock out first thing tomorrow to start the week off right.

First, we know your website is important so let's make sure AI can even read it. Second, you’re gonna see what the AI says about you. Third, you're gonna have Claude read your email and pull out the questions buyers actually ask you, then turn one into a page that gets you quoted in the answers. Fourth, you’re gonna to make your profiles tell the same story everywhere so the AI trusts what it finds. About 40 minutes, start to finish, and you can do the whole thing from your phone on the couch.

Step 1: Find out if AI can even see your site (5 minutes)

Type your website address followed by /robots.txt into any browser, like sarahsmithrealty.com/robots.txt. That little file tells crawlers what they are allowed to read, and the AI assistants use crawlers to pull their live answers. Copy the whole thing, paste it into Claude, and let it tell you where you stand. Here is the prompt:

"Here is my website's robots.txt file. In plain English, tell me whether AI search crawlers like GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Claude-Web and Google's can read my site. If anything is blocking them, show me the exact lines to change so AI assistants can find and cite my pages: [paste your robots.txt here]"

If it says you are blocked and you own your site, make the change it hands you. If you are on a brokerage or IDX site you cannot edit, forward Claude's answer to your website tech team and ask them to make the fix.

Step 2: Ask AI what it says about you right now (5 minutes)

Open ChatGPT and Gemini and ask it the following question (remember, you need to be logged out to truly see what the results are) - "Who are the best real estate agents in [your area]?" then "Tell me about [your name]." That is your baseline. Screenshot it, because in a month you want to see it change.

Step 3: Write a page the AI can quote (20 minutes)

This is the piece that actually gets you cited, because AI quotes whoever answered the exact question a buyer asked. The good part: you don't have to remember what buyers ask, you can let Claude go dig it out of your inbox. If your email is connected, give it this:

"Look through my last 50 client and buyer emails and list the 10 questions buyers ask me most, in their own words."

Pick the one you hear most, then have it write the page for you:

"You are helping me write a helpful, factual answer page for my real estate website. The question is: [paste the buyer's question]. Write about 300 words in plain, specific language a local expert would actually use. Name real neighborhoods, real price ranges, and the honest tradeoffs. No salesy language. Put the question as the headline and keep the paragraphs short."

Publish the answer on your own site or as a LinkedIn article, and do one each week. A month from now you have a stack of the exact content AI is hunting for, and you never had to brainstorm a single topic.

Step 4: Make your story match everywhere (10 minutes)

AI cross-references your Zillow, Realtor.com and LinkedIn profiles, and it trusts the agent whose details line up. Open all three and make the neighborhoods you work and the price ranges you quote say the same thing on each. Make sure all your links are shared back and forth among everywhere you have an account on the internet.

What this actually gets you

In under 40 minutes you checked that you are visible, saw where you stand, published one thing AI can cite, and squared up your profiles. Start with Step 1 right now, before you close this email.
